What is Romanian Orphan Ministries and how do we minister to orphans? Our mission statement is, "Bringing the forgotten orphan children in Romania to faith in Christ, discipling them, and equipping them to be productive citizens and Christians." So, we have three main goals: to evangelize, to disciple, and to equip.

We focus on teenage and young adult orphans. We get to know them through our weekly Bible study. We do fun things with them in our Saturday Out program. Through these several have come to the Lord.

After we get to know them we include them in our Discipleship 101 program, matching them up with a personal mentor. We include them in family-type activities and plug them into the local church so that they have a support base.

Equipping them involves helping them further their education through our Back to School program, teaching them life skills through our Sunday Dinner program, and assisting them to become independent in our Apartment Transition program.

We currently work very closely with around 15 orphans. We seek to have a big impact on a few lives rather than a little impact on many. We spend much time building relationships with them so that we can make a difference in their lives.

Our broader ministry seeks to attract more youth into our programs and the church and we currently work with around 60 orphans in these endeavors.

But programs and activities aside, we personally believe that the one thing that overrides all others is love. We show them love and acceptance, treating them and considering them as part of our own family.

Please note that some of our programs overlap and do not fit into only one category. For example, our Bible study is used as an evangelistic tool, but also serves as a time of discipleship and equipping for our youth who have already accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior.
